Andrew Johnson

March 30, 1936 — August 30, 2021

Andrew Carter Johnson Andrew C Johnson (Mickey), died peacefully at his home on August 30, 2021, after an extended illness. He was born March 30, 1936, in Butte, Montana, the son of Andrew M and Helen M (Carter) Johnson. Andrew lived his younger life on his father’s ranches at Feely and Divide, Montana. He served in the US Army in South Korea from 1955 to 1957. After he returned to the states, he married his red-headed sweetheart, Myrna Morrison, and they settled in Divide at which time he worked at the Maiden Rock Mine and later at the Divide Pump Station, while also working alongside his father on the ranch. In 1970, he and Myrna bought her father’s farm in Dillon and moved the family there. He worked many additional jobs to keep the farm afloat in those early years, including working on Interstate 15 driving cement truck for the new bridges, and digging basements with his backhoe. He was a proud member of the Dillon Elk’s club and loved a good dinner out on Stag Night. He and Myrna celebrated their 64th anniversary on August 18, 2021. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his grandsons Brian Johnson and Jacob Contway, stepbrother, Charles Mehring (Alberta) of Olympia, WA, father-in-law Robert Morrison, mother-in-law Inez Morrison, brother-in-law Clarence Harrison, sister-in-law Marilyn Harrison, and nephew Dan Harrison. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Andy (Terry) Johnson and Jeff Johnson, daughter Marcy Johnson, grandaughter Mandy (Mike) McArthur, grandsons Craig (Lauren) Johnson, Tony Johnson, Dan Johnson, great-grandaughters Madison and Mae McArthur and Olive Johnson, his sister Jewel Miles (Bill) of Cecil Lake, Canada, and nephews Dean (Kandy) and Richard (Debbie) Harrison. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, September 8 at Mountain View Cemetary in Dillon with a reception following at the Dillon Elks Club. For those who wish to remember Andrew in a special way, the family suggests gifts in his memory to Barrett Hospital & HealthCare Hospice, Dillon Volunteer Fire Department, or Beaverhead Animal Shelter.
