Barbara Yewusiak, 71, of Dillon, MT, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at Berrett Hospital. Barb was born July 8, 1947 to William and Agnes (O’Neil) Angove, in Butte, MT. She graduated from Butte High School in 1966. She went on to college at Western Montana College where she earned her degree in education. On August 14, 1967 she married Samuel Yewusiak. Together the couple managed the Missoula Fair. After the couple moved to Dillon, MT they worked the fairgrounds there also. Barb was also a secretary for the Montana Hereford’s Assoc. After retiring from teaching, she owned the Spinning Wheel, yarn and needlepoint shop, in Dillon and worked for the last 17 years at the Gallery in Dillon. Her father Bill was captured during the Battle of the Bulge, so Barb was an active supporter of military veterans and worked and assisted in developing the Dillon Veteran’s Memorial. Barb was gifted at knitting and needle point. She knitted numerous sweaters, socks, hats, mittens and needle point prints that she generously donated to various individuals and charitable organizations. One of her hobbies that she’d acquired through her Aunt Helen, collected numerous salt and pepper shakers and had a collection of well over 300 sets. She also enjoyed the trips to Jackpot with her parents and her brother. She was also known to enjoy a daily cocktail with her husband Sam at the Klondike’s Bar. Barb was preceded in death by both her parents, and also her brother Terry. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, and many cousins. Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 10 AM at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Dillon. A Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11 AM.
