Betty Lou Stokke (Girlie) Passed away peacefully May 29, 2022 surrounded by her family. Betty was born June 5, 1938 in Forsyth, Montana to Earl (Muggs) and Ruth Cady. She was the 5th of 5 children. She attended high school in Colstrip, graduating in 1957. The first 5 years of her life she spent on Slaughter House Creek outside of Forsythe where her dad and grandfather ran sheep. Later, her dad and grandfather bought a gas station in Lame Deer where she spent significant time at her parents’ business, Cady’s Conoco. She met Fred Stokke, the love of her life, in Red Lodge, Montana. They were married June 15 ,1961. Fred and Betty had 3 children; Mitchell Stokke, Tonia King (Kyran) and Jade Stokke (Laurinda). She is loved by 7 grandchildren; Ashlie, Teron, Chance, Kylee, Madison Lou, Sara Sue, and Jasmin. Betty has 6 great grandchildren; Joey, Mo’ana and Ulla-Pele, Paisley, Paxton and Alyssa. Betty is survived by her husband, Fred, of 61 years and her younger brother, George (Boy) Cady and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Chance Stokke, sister and two brothers. At her request, no services will be held.
