Clyde Robert Smith Jr., 92 of Dillon, Montana passed away at his home on May 17th, 2017. He was born at the family homestead on September 14, 1924 to Clyde Hunter and Madge Suzannah Ray Smith in Dillon, Montana. He was the fifth of a family of eight. In 1928, the family moved to a ranch 9 miles north of Dillon on the Twin Bridges road where they lived until 1977 when the ranch was sold. He went to grade school at the Drummey school until it was consolidated with the Bagley school in 1939 and then went to the new High School. Clyde had ranched with his family all his life. He was in partnership with his brother Gilmer until his brothers passing on the ranch south of Dillon. Clyde was preceded in death by his father Clyde and mother Madge as well as his siblings; Stanley Smith, Louise Anderson, Gilmer Smith, Dennis Smith, Virginia Duffner and Roger Smith. He is survived by his brother, Jack Smith of Dillon, 13 nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. There is a visitation scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 5 – 8 PM with services the following day, May 24th, 2017 at 2 PM at Brundage Funeral Home. Committal services will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
