Cora Hofferber

January 21, 1928 — October 11, 2019

Cora LaVoie Hofferber passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 11, 2019. She was born on January 21, 1928 in Missoula, to Frank and Louise LaVoie. The family moved to Dillon and started the OK Tire Store. Cora graduated from Beaverhead County High School and held many jobs. While employed as a telephone switchboard operator, she met and married John Hofferber. The couple resided in Butte until moving back to Dillon. John and Cora took over the OK Tire Store and later owned the Wayside Acres Trailer Park. Cora was a loving mother to their four daughters and a devoted wife. In later years, her and John spent many winters in Yuma, AZ. She loved to line dance and play her piano. She enjoyed sharing her baked goods and playing pinochle. She was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Louise LaVoie; her husband, John Hofferber; grandson John Mark Clemow and nephew Bill Tarleton. She is survived by her sister, Cecelia "Pete" Tarleton, daughters; Kathy (Sam) Stearns, Bernie (Jim) Darby, Patty (Bob) Hutfles, Susie (Phil) Yuhas, special friend Joe Carroll, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren whom she cherished. Cora love the Lord, her rosary and her Catholic faith. She was an active member of St. Rose Parish. There is a visitation scheduled for Thursday October 17th from 5:00 - 6:30 PM with a vigil service and rosary following at 6:30 PM at Brundage Funeral Home. A celebration of Life Mass will be held on Friday, October 18th at 11:00 AM. at St. Rose Parish, followed by a luncheon. A family committal will take place later at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Dementia Foundation.
