David Wade Ferris passed away August 6, 2022 in Butte, MT. He was born February 27, 1941 to Edgar “Bud” Ferris and Elizabeth Betty (Landers) Ferris in Dillon, MT. He was raised on the family ranch north of Dillon. He attended the Nelson Schoolhouse and BCHS, graduating in 1959, where he played football (captain) and basketball. He was the senior class president, attending Boys State and was a member of Honor Society. He briefly attended MSU and then returned home to the family ranch. After ranching, he became an excellent pilot who logged a lot of hours in many different airplanes. He was known by friends and family for his generosity and integrity. He married Bonnie (Smith) Ferris in 1962 and they had 5 children. They later divorced and he married Debbie (Wendell) Ferris. After marrying Debbie he moved to Butte where Brit was born in 1989. Dave enjoyed spending his later years going fishing with Debbie, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and staying in touch with numerous family and friends. He was preceded by his parents Bud and Betty, his brothers Dick and Steve and sister Mary. He is survived by his wife Debbie and daughter Brittani, along with stepdaughter Kail (Kevin); sons Mike (Audra), Tom, Bob (Jamie), Gary, daughter Barbara (Joff); 13 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brother Ed (Jennifer), sister-in law Joanne Ferris and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. There will be a brief gathering at Mountain View Cemetery on August 17 at 1 pm, followed by a celebration of life at Mac’s Last Cast around 2 pm.
