Dennis DeVivo passed away on December 11, 2018 in Dillon, MT after an extended time with cancer. He was born on April 1, 1943 in Chicago, IL to Anthony and Babe DeVivo. At the age of 2 his family moved to Florida where he was raised with two brothers, Ralph and Bruce. After high school Dennis enlisted in the Army and served in Germany. After discharge from the Army he went on a road trip and wound up in Montana after hearing about its beauty from an Army buddy. He settled in Montana in the late 1960’s and lived here ever since. He always said you can’t help where you were born or raised but you can choose where to live your life. He met Jean Gillespie in the early 70’s and they were married in 1980 and spent 38 adventurous years together. Most of his life he was an auto mechanic but finally realized his dream to work in aviation when in 2000 Dennis and Jean bought Dillon Flying Service and spent 10 years doing what they loved. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ralph and his sister-in-law, Betty. Dennis is survived by his wife, Jean; his brother, Bruce (Peggy) his brother-in-law Jack (Cherry), numerous nieces, nephews and great friends. A Celebration of his life will be held in the Spring at the Dillon airport that he loved. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Dennis’s name can send it to Dillon Flying Service, 2400 Airport Road, Dillon, MT for the Dennis DeVivo Aviation Scholarship.
