Donald Paul Fjermestad, 85 of Dillon, Montana passed away at his home surrounded by his family on December 4, 2017. He was born on December 25, 1931 in Minnewauken, North Dakota to Marshall and Julia (Rickert) Fjermestad. He was an underground miner in Butte, Montana after high school then joined the Navy. He was married to Vera Davidson in 1961 and they had a son, Donald Paul Fjermestad. He moved to Deer Lodge in 1967 and began his logging career. He logged for 35 years before retiring in 2002. After he retired he maintained his rental home business North of Dillon. His survivors include: Son, Don Fjermestad of Deer Lodge, Montana, step daughters: Patti Anderson of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Terri McCree of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and Debbie Sherman of Marion, Montana as well as a sister: Shirley Ericson (Fjermestad) of Clark Fork, Idaho. Private family services will take place at a later date.
