Donald William Roedel (Don) went home to be with his Lord and Savior on 9/11/2015. He was born to Bernhard and Anna Roedel in Great Falls, MT (1936). He was a graduate of Whitefish High School (1955) and a member of the National Honor Society and Football Letterman. He married his sweetheart, Jean M. Mikesell with whom he celebrated 60 years. He is survived by Jean and their children; Lori A. Crawford of Dillon, MT, Gayle Syck (Bruce) of Kila, MT, and D. Mark Roedel (Heidi) of Kalispell, MT; their grandchildren, Jeremy Dimick, Aaron Thompson, Luke Dimick, Autumn Grant, Samuel Syck, Justin Roedel, Jessica Brubaker, Jenae Roedel, Troy Roedel and many great grandchildren, and brother, Theodore Roedel of Minnesota. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed. Don was preceded in death by his parents Bernhard and Anna Roedel, his sister Darlene Berger and his grand daughter Kelsey Jean Dimick. Unexpectedly, he died at home of natural causes. He was a man of great value and will be remembered for his open arms and endearing smile, his mechanical abilities and his love for his family and the big sky country. He especially enjoyed hunting and country living. He loved his church family at Prairie Bible Church. He came to know the Lord as Savior in White Sulphur Springs, MT and served at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. In Dillon he taught Sunday School at Faith Gospel Baptist Church and served as deacon. Don was a founder of the Montana Logging Association. He owned and operated Roedel Logging (WhiteSulphur Springs & Dillon), he was Woods Boss for Stoltze Land and Lumber (Dillon), Road Builder for the Sun Mountain Ranch (Ennis), Logging Base Camp Manager for PT Kalamanis (Kalimantan) and trained drivers and Operations Manager for Osh Kosh off road 40 ton trucks (Northern Sumatra), Shop Foreman/Diesel Mechanic for JTL (Belgrade), Shop Foreman for Lonesome Dove(Belgrade). He retired in 2007 and enjoyed country living on his ranchette junkyard collecting Ford keepsakes. LOL There will be a viewing at Brundage Funeral Home, 300 S. Atlantic, Dillon, MT 59725, Friday, September 18 from 5pm to 8 pm with Funeral Service, Saturday, September 19 at 1pm with Pastor Paul Peck officiating.
