Donna Kay Cherry, 76 passed away on May 23, 2023 at Barrett Hospital and Healthcare in Dillon, MT. Donna was born in Rosebud, MT on August 2, 1946, to Arven C Mooer and Catherine Eva (Bromley) Mooer. She spent her youth in the Rosebud/Forsyth area and attended school in Rosebud.
On May 17 th , 1981 Donna was united in marriage to John “Dee” Cherry, Jr. Dee and Donna were married 27 years. And Dee was often quoted as saying “the best thing he ever did was marry Donna.” They lived in the Lima. Mt area during their lives together.
If you were well acquainted with Donna you knew that these were some of her favorite things: her agate wedding ring, her dog Cinnamon, the color of lilac, butterflies, old-time country music, coca -cola, playing cards and board based games “but no poker” (her words), doing embroidery, potato soup, Christmas cactus plants, moss roses (because Grandma had them) and being an avid fan of the Lima Bears sport teams.
Donna was a member of the Lima Community Church and helped with AWANAS for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband John “Dee” Cherry, her parents, brothers Gary Mooer (killed in Vietnam), and Ron Bromley.
Donna is survived by a special first cousin Don Polich and wife Heather, special sister in law, Sydna King, and other more distant relatives, and MANY friends, who were often recipients of frequent but brief phone calls.
Graveside services will be tentatively planned for early fall under the direction of Brundage Funeral Home. A notice of the date and time will be published prior to the service.
Memorial donations can be made to the Lima Community Swimming Pool, the Lima Rural Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance, or the Beaverhead County Animal Shelter in Dillon, MT.
