Doris Mae Brown

April 8, 1939 — February 1, 2025

Dillon

Doris Mae Brown, 85, of Dillon, Montana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 8, 1939, in Foley, Minnesota, to Martin and Ursula Aker, Doris lived a life marked by faith, love, and devotion. She walked steadfastly with Christ and found joy in sharing His love with all who knew her.

In 1957, Doris moved to Anaconda, Montana, and in 1967 she settled in Dillon, where she chose to raise her four children: Michael Hampton, Kimberly Eddie, Kelly Hampton, and Lisa Gross. She began her career at Barrett Mineral Technologies in 1975 and remained a dedicated employee until her retirement in 1999.

Doris was a faithful member of the Beaverhead Baptist Church, where she found joy in worship and cherished the fellowship of her church family. Her faith was the guiding light of her life, and she lived each day as a testament to God's love and grace.

Doris had many talents and interests, including sewing, puzzles, gardening, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Known for her exceptional cooking and warm hospitality, she welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and ensured no one left with an empty belly. Her vibrant garden was a testament to her green thumb and became a well-known treasure in the community for its bright, beautiful flowers.

Doris's greatest joy was her family. She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, blessed with 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members and cherished friends.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hansen and his compassionate nurses, as well as Honey Bee Hospice, for their loving care and support during this time. Special gratitude goes to her dear friend Shirley Owenby, who was a constant source of love and help, frequently stopping by to check in on Doris and assist with errands and chores.

A memorial service to celebrate Doris's life will be held at a later date.

Doris will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her kind and generous spirit, and the beautiful legacy of love she leaves behind.
