Edmond Verl Lovell passed away quietly in the comfort of his home on December 25, 2024, following a long and courageous battle with several chronic illnesses.
Ed was born on December 13, 1949, in Dillon, Montana to Joseph and Verla Purser Lovell. He spent his early years living between Idaho Falls, Idaho and Dillon, Montana. Winters were spent in Idaho Falls and in the summer the family moved back to Dillon to live on the family dry farm up the Sweetwater. In 6th grade, Ed moved to Dillon with his family to live full time and continue working the dry farm.
Ed graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1969, and went on to attend WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming where he studied auto mechanics. He had various jobs until 1973 when he went to work for Pfizer at Barretts near Dillon. He worked there until his retirement from Minerals Technology (formerly Pfizer).
In 1974, Ed married Glynis McDougal. Together, Ed and Glynis have two children, John and Sarah. John and Sarah will carry on their father's memory and his legacy of love for the outdoors because of the many camping, fishing, hiking, and hunting trips he took with them.
Ed is survived by his wife of 50 years, Glynis, son, John Fetty-Lovell (Danielle), daughter, Sarah Lovell (Cory Berg), and his precious granddaughters, Finley and Chloe Fetty-Lovell. He is also survived by his daughter from his first marriage, Kristi, and her family.
At Ed's request, there will be no services.
