Sir George F. Fryett, Jr.

George Fryett was born in Helena, Montana in 1935, and subsequently, raised in California with his father in 1939. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic High School ROTC in 1949.

In 1956, George Fryett enlisted in the Army and had follow on tours in Korea and Turkey. In 1958, Specialist Fourth Class Fryett reenlisted and studied Russian language at the Army Language School. In 1960, he spent 19 months in Turkey, and in 1961, reassigned to Vietnam near Bien Hoa. Six months later, December 24, 1961, he was captured by the Viet Cong near Saigon, and less then a year, was released. In 1962, he was extensively debriefed after his release and was later returned to the United States. In 1963, he was assigned to 51st Officer Candidate School, and then in 1964, honorably discharged from Active Duty.

Since his discharge from Active Duty he has worked as a Veterans Advocate. Since 1965, he is a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He is also working on a number of articles, publications and books. He is now a life member of the American Ex-Prisoners of War of America, the Vietnam Veterans of America, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In 1982, he assisted a number of Veterans in Montana putting together reports for a Congressional Hearing held in Helena, Montana. In 1990, he was investured into the Sovereign Military Order of Saint John of Jerusalem Knights of Malta. He is currently a free-lance writer/photographer and sent various items publications.

During George's military career, he was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat in 1961, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/Device, Republic Gallantry Cross with Palm, and various other decoration including the Former Prisoners of War Medal.

George Fryett is married to Lady Donna Fryett. She is published in the "Who's Who of American Education" and is now retired from teaching. They both reside in Dillon, Montana.

"I feel that if I can help only a few of my fellow members of this planet, then I surely have a reason to feel somewhat satisfied that I have done my part while I was on this planet'.

Military honors will be rendered in front of Brundage Funeral Home at 11 A.M. on

January 4, 2025, with the reception to immediately follow at Sweet Water Coffee.
