James Frank Kajin passed away on June 9 th , 2022. He was born on January 28 th , 1948 in Dillon, MT. The son of Mary Louise Punsy Kajin and William Kajin, he was a fourth generation Rancher. He had three children – Matt, Megan, and Michael by a previous marriage. He and Kate Mcdougal were married in October 1992 in Salmon, ID. Jim graduated from BCHS in 1966 and received a degree in diesel mechanics from Idaho State University. He was in the national guard for seven years. Jim loved ranching, camping, fishing, and hunting. He religiously followed his grandchildren in everything they did – especially sports. He supported his stepchildren Charles and Mary Helen Mcdougal through fiddling, rodeo, and college. Jim loved his horses and dogs, especially Ruby his red heeler. Search and rescue was extremely important to him – he was a member for nearly 56 years. He is survived by his wife Kate, brother Al and loving children. There will be a celebration of Jim’s life on July 16 th at Reservoir Lake. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Beaverhead search and rescue or a nonprofit of their choice.
