She was raised on a farm outside of Fairfield and is where she graduated from Fairfield High School in 1971. Her parents Neil and Vivian Keith gave her a beautiful life and her love for horses and the outdoors. Janis loved fishing with family and gardening at home.
Janis's careers in her communities expanded from West Yellowstone where she and her husband were owners and editors of the West Yellowstone Tribune. The past 40 years Janis has lived in Missoula, Montana where she was an active member of her community.
She ended her career working for the faculty Department at the University of Montana as well as the Forestry Department. She was appreciated by staff and students and known "As the one who could get the job done". Janis and her husband Kim were active members of the Hellgate Corvette Club in Missoula where they enjoyed years of friendships.
Survivors include her husband Kim Redman, stepson Brandon Redman, and stepdaughter Byrekka all from Missoula. Grandchildren, Brandon, Victoria, and Shaylee. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Vivian Keith and her loving brother Steve Keith. She is also preceded in death by her first husband John Barber.
Janis's Celebration of Life will be October 12th at 1:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bonner, Montana. Interment for the family will be at Missoula County Cemetery.
