Johanna Vinson passed away March 5th 2018 at Pioneer Care in Dillon, Montana. She was 85. Johanna was born October 2nd, 1932 in Kulmbach, Germany. Losing her father in Italy during WWII, she grew up with her mother and four siblings in the not so pleasant times. At the age of 14, she went to work in a factory in Germany to help support her family. In 1951, she met a U.S. soldier, Robert Vinson and fell in love starting a new chapter in her life. Johanna and Bob moved to the U.S. in 1952 to start their new life together. Johanna was proud to become a U.S. citizen under the direction of Michigan Governor, George C. Romney. She was so proud to now be an American citizen. From 1952 through 1956, Johanna brought four healthy boys into their lives and became the world's best mother and homemaker. Always a smile for everyone even up to her last days. Johanna lost her loving husband of 30 years in 1982. She spent the last 30 years bringing joy to the lives of everyone around her. Johanna is survived by her sister, Sigi Morris (Don) of Independence, MO., sons Brian (Carol) of Dillon, MT, Mike (Joanne) of Hardy Creek, MT ,Bobby (Sherry) of Vancouver, WA, Rory of Lewiston, ID, Vicki Vinson of Spokane Valley, WA. Grandchildren, Matthew Vinson (Stephanie) of Dillon, MT Holly Tonhofer (Mark) of Elk, WA, Benny Vinson of Denver, CO, Amanda Vinson of Cascade, MT, Brian Charles Vinson of FL, and Noelle Vinson of Vancouver, WA, along with seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, parents Hans and Katarina, brother Hans and sisters, Ilsa and Margo.
