Josephine Ermelinda Dickey passed away December 27th at the Renaissance Senior Care Center. Jo was born March 18, 1931 in Lima. She was the daughter of Josephine and Nicholas Salvo. The family moved from Lima to Apex where she attended the Birch Creek School and later the Beaverhead County High School. Jo married Ed Neal in 1950 and was widowed in 1958. She later married Robert Dickey and had two sons Randall and Russell. Jo and Robert were later divorced. Jo worked many jobs throughout her lifetime. Her two primary jobs were working for the Beaverhead County Treasurer from 1961 to 1974. In 1974 she went to work for the State Bank where she worked until she retired in 2004. Jo took her sons on vacation every summer. These were great adventures for everyone. Jo loved to travel and was able to do so often after her retirement. Jo was a life long bowler who was a member of several leagues. Jo belonged to TOPS, Rebekah Lodge, Woman’s International Bowling Congress, Past Noble Grand Club, Gold Nuggetts Square Dance Club and VFW Junior Rifle Club. Jo was preceded in death by her first husband Ed Neal, sister Millie Hayden, brother-in-law Archie Hayden, niece Donna Hayden Hansen, brother Joseph Salvo and sister-in-law Peggy Salvo. Jo is survived by her sons Randall Dickey of Dillon, Russell Dickey and Susan Martinell of Victor, grandson Treavor Dickey of Missoula, brother James Salvo, of Dallas Texas, Don and Anna Salvo of Sheridan, Wyoming, nephew Archie Hayden and niece JoLynn Hayden. A memorial mass is scheduled for Friday, January 4, 2019 at 12:10 PM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Rose Catholic Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
