Joyce Caraker passed away on August 25, 2014 in Dillon, Montana after a lengthy illness, with loved ones by her side. She was born in Teton Idaho on July 6, 1928 to Cecil and Mable Gardner McKinlay. She grew up in Teton, Driggs and Idaho Falls attending schools there. Being part of a farming family, she learned to love that life style, especially riding horses which she ever enjoyed. In 1945, she married Ray Stocks and moved to Montana which quickly became home to her. They had one son, Ray, they later divorced. In 1957, she married Carl Caraker. Rex and Deana soon joined the happy family who later moved to Wisdom. With the passing of Carl, she moved to the Brookside Apartments where she resided until ill health forced her to move where she could have around the clock care. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, auntie and loyal friend. She loved working puzzles, walking with friends and helping those in need. She had a cheerful disposition and a quick wit. Her greatest love was her family. She will be missed by those who know and love her, no doubt. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, brothers Max, Burke, and Gordon, sisters Klea and Anena. She is survived by her brother, Garry McKinlay of Dillon, sons Ray (Melanie) Stocks, Bozeman, Rex Caraker, Wisdom, daughter Deana (Joe) Harrison, Dillon, stepson Gene (Polly) Caraker, step daughter in law Audrey Caraker, of Bellingham, WA, 5 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
