Loren Sigman

Loren E. Sigman passed away at Pioneer Care in Dillon, MT on February 17, 2022. He was born on February 10, 1927 in Dumont, South Dakota to Emsley and Jesse Kirkham Sigman. Loren was the oldest of four children. He moved to Whitehall with his family in 1939. He graduated from Whitehall High School in 1948. Loren went to work in Wise River for the Mallon Ranch where he met his wife, Retha Jones. They were married on June 22, 1952. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this June. They had one son, Russell. Loren and his family moved to Dillon in 1958. Loren owned and operated Union 76/Sigman Oil for many years. Loren enjoyed playing cards, fishing and going on hunting trips. He was a member of the Southwest Montana Shriners, Royal Arch Masons, Order of the Eastern Star, and Elks Lodge. Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister Dorothy (Pete) Uggetti, brother Claude (Mildred), brothers-in-law Donald Jones, Pete Patacini, Ed Hepola, and nephew Karl Jones. Loren is survived by his devoted wife Retha, son Russ (Wanda), 2 grandchildren Travis (Amy) and Melanie, 4 great grandsons, sister Darlene Patacini Hepola, sisters-in-law Lynn (John) Mugaas and Liz Jones, numerous nieces, and nephews. Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on February 24th at 2 PM. Cremation has taken place and burial of ashes will take place at a later date at the Dewey, MT cemetery.
