Louise Peters

December 28, 1941 — January 11, 2021

Louise Rebich Peters was born to William and Mary Rebich on December 28, 1941 in Butte, MT. She passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home on January 11, 2021. Louise grew up in Dillon on the family ranch along with her older brother William (Bill) and younger brother (Gene). She attended public schools in Dillon and graduated from Beaverhead County High School. She moved to Spokane, attended Kinman Business University while working as a nanny. She returned to Dillon, where she met and married Keith Peters on August 5, 1964 and they had a daughter, Kristi Lin in 1965. They leased and ran the auction barn with Keith’s father and brothers until 1969 when they purchased a ranch southwest of Dillon. On the Home Ranch over the years they raised cattle, sheep, hogs, goats, rabbits, horses, hay, and the family vegetable garden. Louise dearly loved the ranch and the animals; bottle-feeding many orphaned lambs and calves, canning and freezing garden produce, serving as a 4-H leader just to name a few of her many activities. During Keith’s battle with an aggressive meningioma and after his passing in 2008, she assumed full responsibility for and ran the ranch up until her passing. Louise is survived by her daughter Kristi, son-in law Chris Colleran and her brothers, Bill and Gene. To ensure everyone stays healthy and safe, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family appreciates your warm thoughts, shared memories, and condolences during this time. Memorial contributions can be made to Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch or Shriners Hospital for Children.
