Margret (Maggie) Ann Sturm passed peacefully on June 15, 2018. She was born to Henry and Louella Deatsch on June 30, 1929 in Dillon, Montana. Maggie graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1947. On June 18, 1948 she married Lee Sturm in Butte, MT and they enjoyed 63 years together. In 1961 they were blessed with daughter, Sandra Lee. Maggie was a career woman throughout her life and an example to many on working hard. In 1951 she was employed by Dr. Curry, D.D.S. for four years then moved to the First National Bank for two stints of work that covered sixteen years. In 1974, Maggie moved to the court house and served as Beaverhead County Treasurer for seventeen years. Her abilities were recognized every four years by the voters of Beaverhead County . She retired from her long and distinguished work life in 1991. Lee and Maggie enjoyed both working hard throughout the week and recreating with friends on weekends. They spent their time skiing and hunting in the winter and fishing and boating in the summer months. They had a special fondness for Flathead Lake and spent many weekends and summer vacations with family and friends at their lake home. They eventually moved to the lake living there for 14 years before returning back to Dillon to be near family. Maggie had a passion for music and could play many instruments from the violin and accordion to her favorite, the piano. In 1972 a band was formed with Maggie, co-worker Ron Johnson, Bob James, Sandy James, Dr. Allan Riddles and Charlie Lansing, originally called "The Overdrafts." They played at parties for Organizations such as The Danish Brotherhood, SW Stock Growers, Beaverhead Republicans and many wedding receptions and anniversary parties. Dr. Iddles frequently played recordings of their music during surgeries. Margret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 2011. She is survived by her daughter Sandy (Doug) Briggs, grandchildren Brendan (Jenna) Briggs and Brittany (Tyrel) Munday, great grandchildren Finley and Elise Briggs, Chloe and Aason Munday, numerous relatives and friends.
