Marilyn Jean Harrison was born on October 26, 1933, in Dillon, Montana to Robert and Inez (Stinson) Morrison. She grew up in Dillon, attended school and graduated from Beaverhead High School. She fell head over heels in love with a young cowboy who had come to Montana from Texas to break horses. Marilyn married Clarence Harrison on October 14, 1951, in Dillon. They made their living on various ranches near Dillon. Marilyn’s most beloved home was at Jerry Creek, near Wise River, where they raised their three sons Dean, Dan and Richard. She worked at several jobs but above all Marilyn loved her years working for the US Forest Service. Many very special, lifelong friends were made while working in her beloved mountains. Marilyn loved the outdoors, wildlife, history, hiking, antiques, searching for artifacts, reading any book she could get her hands on, her family and adopted family members. She thoroughly enjoyed the many short excursions and trips taken with her family and friends. She is survived by her sons Dean Harrison and his wife Kandy of Sheridan, WY., Richard Harrison and his wife Deb of Battle Mountain, NV.; one sister Myrna Johnson and her husband Andrew C. (Mickey) of Dillon; one niece Marcy Johnson; two nephews, Andy Johnson and his wife Terry of Dillon and Jeff Johnson of Dell, MT.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hernandez, Jessica Henson McWherter, Susan Harrison and Dan Harrison. Marilyn was blessed to have her very special “adopted” grandchildren nearby. She spent many happy years loving and spending time with Loretta Hill Kolbeck, Larry Hill, and Greg, Sam, Ellie and Maggie Fulbright. She was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband Clarence Harrison and son Dan Harrison.
