Dillon

Marilyn "Maggie" Lundberg, born on June 28, 1935, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on August 15th at the age of 89. Born in Fosston, Minn., she was the third of four children and only daughter of Edwin and Alma (Narum) Iverson.

Born in Fosston, Minn., her family moved to Belgrade 1945 when her father became Manager of Gallatin Field Airport (Bozeman International Airport). Completing high school in 1953, she pursued higher education at Western Montana College, graduating in 1955 earning her teaching certificate and meeting her future soulmate, Marvin Lundberg.

She married her Marvin on September 2, 1956, in a beautiful ceremony at their family church, marking the beginning of a shared life filled with love, happiness and devotion. From this day forward they worked side by side supporting each other's dreams.

Shortly after the wedding they moved to Missoula to start Marilyn's teaching career, Marvin continuing his education at the University in Missoula. Marilyn accepted a teaching position which she totally loved in Jackson in 1957, Marvin driving the school bus to Dillon attending Western Montana College. By 1959 they settled in Hamilton Marilyn working for a local dental hygienist, Marvin teaching in Darby.

Eventually they made their home Dillon. In 1962, they adopted a son, Mark, and in 1964 a daughter Mary Ann. Mom was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, kindness, courage, and love in abundance.

Marilyn was a beloved member of the Dillon community, known for her kindness and good spirit, she was always there to offer a helping hand. She was extremely proud to be the Beaverhead County Fair Secretary for more than three decades, working closely with the fair manager (her husband Marvin), 4-H Clubs, Jaycee's, and the fair board. She was an accomplished piano player and filled her home with beautiful music. She was the organist at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, in addition to playing for many local weddings, funerals, and special occasions.

In addition to teaching for two years at Jackson, Marilyn worked as a telephone operator, bookkeeper for Valley Motor Supply (Carquest), church secretary and operated a catering service with close friends Byron and Debby Keller. She held a strong Christian faith, and enjoyed family and friends, cooking, sewing, bowling with her Melrose gals "Charlie's Angels", and dedicating her time for local organizations - March of Dimes, Jaycees, Lady Elks, Sons of Norway - and supporting Marvin's causes.

Marilyn is survived by her son Mark Lundberg, daughter Mary Ann Gorsich, brother Ron Iverson, sister-in-law Mavis Faverty, grandson, Logan Gorsich, granddaughters Katrina (Dexter) Keller, Brooklynn Lundberg, and Secret Rylee Kunkle, as well as great-grandsons Layne and Lincoln Keller, and great-granddaughter Regan Keller.
