Martha (Heiller) Griffis

Martha E. Griffis, 97 died peacefully in her sleep at Meadow Lark Manor in Whitehall, MT.  She was born November 28, 1916 in Nassau, Minnesota to August H. and Gretsie M. Heiller.  Mardy was a friendly person, she would talk and visit with many friends and always had her coffee pot on and home baked goodies ready to serve to anyone that stopped by.  She loved to garden and work with the soil.  Her gardens were productive and the vegetables she didn't can were given away to those people who needed them.   She was preceded in death by her husband Donald L Griffis who passed away on May 21, 1990.  She is survived by her children; Donald L (Kathy) Griffis, Patricia A (Bill) Mason, Curtis G (Sally) Griffis, Harold P (Beatrice) Griffis, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.   She made life fun and always told stories and jokes, her sense of humor will be missed by the residents of Meadow Lark Manor and by all those who knew her.  A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, November 26th at 1:30 PM.
