Mary (Drgamc) Simon

March 6, 1925 — November 30, 2014

Mary Simon, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin and friend passed away on November 30, 2014 at the Renaissance Assisted Living.  Mary was born in Dillon to Emma and John Drganc on March 6th, 1925.  She had a younger sister, Lorraine.  She lived in Bannack through 5th grade, and remembered the day that the merry-go-round was installed at the Bannack School! She then moved to Dillon and graduated from BCHS in 1944.  Mary worked at Roberts Foods through high school.  Later, she was a telephone operator.  She married George Simon in 1950 and moved to Illinois.  While there, she had two daughters, Lynn and Lori. They all moved back to Dillon in 1974.  Mary again worked at Robers Food and then at the State Bank until her retirement in 1987. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandsons, dancing, fishing, cooking, traveling and gardening, in that order! Mary's faith meant everything to her.  She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and attended daily mass for years.  She was a Eucharistic Minister, worked in the Bargain Basement, and helped at funeral luncheons. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and husband. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Lynn and Greg Trenary of Helena, and Lori and Jim Valach of Dillon:  grandchildren Crystal (Jeff )  Sykes, Lindsey Trenary, Nicholas Valach, John (Kristen) Valach:  great grandchildren Landon Trenary and Christopher Valach, cousin Rosie Brown of Dillon, friends Rose Marie Murrish and Josephine Dickey, and numerous nieces and nephews. There is a visitation scheduled for Thursday, December 4th from 5 - 6 PM with a vigil service at 6 PM at Brundage Funeral Home.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 5th at 12:10 PM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Our deepest thanks goes out to the loving caregivers at The Renaissance Home, along with Dr. Anna Loge, Marie Holt, Dr. Judy Wilson, Teresa Duffy, and Lynette Goodale. If God told me I could change my mind And look around until I'd find A different Mom than the one I've got I'd say, "Thanks God, thanks a whole lot The one I have is the best you see"” I'm glad you picked her out for me". Written by Leona Klein Although we are heartbroken, we find comfort in knowing that our mother is in a better place.  We now have a sweet angel watching over us.  Thank you, "Gramster""¦yours was "a life well lived."  We will miss you always. If you would so desire, memorials could be made to the Humane Society of Beaverhead County - 34 Lagoon Lane or Barrett Memorial Home Healthcare and Hospice - 600 Highway 91 S.
