Max Gale Nield

Max Gale Nield, 90, of Dillon, Montana, passed away Sunday, January 19th, 2025, at their residence. Max was born October 21st, 1934, to Percy Lavell Nield and Ella Amelia Rice in Ririe, ID. Max was raised in that area and graduated from Ririe High School. He met his beautiful bride Barbara in Kindergarten in Ririe, ID and the couple was married on July 15 th , 1954. Max attended Idaho State University for 1 year, Ricks College 2 years and Western Montana College 2 years. He achieved a master's degree in English. Max worked as a teacher, coach, farmer and businessman. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing golf and spending time with friends and family. He was a member of the LDS Church and involved in the Presbyterian Church community with Barbara.

Max is preceded in death by Percy and Ella Nield (parents).

He is survived by Barbara Nield (spouse), Rick and Lynne Nield (son and daughter in-law), Sid and Vickie Nield (son and daughter in-law), Tracy and Bill Nielsen (daughter and son in-law) Grandchildren Natalie Kowal, Carly Schneidenbach, Jenna Lyons, Taylor Nield, Ashley Johnston, Kylee Okamura, Cody Nielsen and Cassey Neduzak. Max is a great grandfather to 15 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to UWM basketball in Max's name.

Services will be scheduled in the future.

Max is to be interred at the Mountain View Cemetery in Dillon, Mt.
