On December 9, 2020, Norman James Sloan (Jim) Loving father and grandfather passed away in his home at age 66. Jim was born in Armstead, Montana to Norma Lockyer and Thomas Sloan. He graduated from Lima High School in 1972. Jim met Patricia Marts is 1982 and they married in 1986. They had 4 children - James, Thomas, Caitlin, and William. Jim was currently employed as the Beaverhead Water Commissioner and worked this position on and off for nearly 40 years. He previously logged at Mile High logging, worked as a driller for an oil patch for 30 years and enjoyed ranching for the Martinells. Jim had a passion for mining, rocks, and the outdoors. He was a knowledgeable man of the surrounding areas of Lima and took pride in his family history. He was known for his long distant running records in high school and would run to school from his family ranch with weighted vests to train. Jim was preceded in death by his father Thomas, mother Norma, brothers Randy and Ted, and son Thomas. He is survived by his three children James, Caitlin, and William, his brothers Tom and Kevin, sisters Linda and Mary Ann, his great aunt Noma, and seven grandchildren Wyatt, Liam, Ryken, Owen, Winston, Emery, and Killian. At this time services will be held at a later date.
