It is with great sadness that the family of Ornetha “Kaye” Snowden announce her passing, on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the age of 87. Kaye will be lovingly remembered by her children Joy Snowden, Monty and (Debbie) Snowden, and Gay Lynn and (Ed) Nye. Kaye will also be fondly remembered by her five grandchildren, Krystal and (Richard) Browne, Danielle Nye, Sean Nye, Katie Snowden, and Heidi Snowden. along with her two great grandchildren Alex and Abby Browne. She is survived by her sister Sharon Antrim, brother Dale and (Linda) Clingman, and several nieces and nephews, in California and Texas. Kaye was preceded in death by her husband Fern “Bud” Snowden, her son Darrell Snowden, parents Lera and Bill Clingman, brother Gary Clingman, sister Faye Farrar, and nephew Duncan Clingman. Kaye was born on March 18, 1931 in Melrose New Mexico. She met and married the love of her life on May 19, 1949 when she was 18 years old. After meeting Bud, she traveled the road with him while he worked construction. They moved to Hamilton MT then Whitehall and finally ended up in Dillon in 1965. After moving to Dillon, Kaye worked many years at the Oasis restaurant before working at the Lions Den where she continued to make new friends. She waitressed at the Lions Den for over 20 years. She also loved dancing, bowling, and her Friday nights out with the girls. What she loved most were her grandkids. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A graveside service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, July 18th, at the Mountain View Cemetery with a gathering at the Elks to follow.
