Philip Dean Johnson, 39, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014, at his home. He was born on June 9, 1974, in Butte, Montana, to Paul and Cherilee Johnson. He was raised on the family cattle ranch in Jackson, Montana. He rode and trained horses and loved competing in horsemanship competitions. He attended grade school in Jackson and graduated from Beaverhead County High School in Dillon, Montana, where he was a member of the wrestling team. After high school he continued to raise cattle alongside his father and grandfather. He was married to Kim Donnelly in 1997. They were later divorced. He was blessed with three children; Devan, Derik, and Emma. He later moved to Idaho Falls to be close to his children. He was an expert snowmobile rider and mechanic and raced quads competitively throughout Montana. He enjoyed watching his boys play sports and spending time with his daughter Emma, who was the apple of his eye. He was a kind and caring man who was friends with everyone he met. He is survived by his sons, Devan Johnson and Derik Johnson; daughter, Emma Johnson; parents, Paul and Cherilee Johnson; and sister Susan Johnson, all of Idaho Falls; uncles and aunts, Joe (Sue) Johnson, of Jackson, and David (Sharon) Crase of Butte, Montana. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benny and Betty Johnson and Phillip and Irene Crase. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Brundage Funeral Home, 300 S. Atlantic Street, in Dillon, Montana. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Dillon, Montana. Local arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
