Russell Ruud

Russell Ruud Russ passed away peacefully on Monday February 17, 2020, in Polaris. He worked at Maverick Ski Hill for many years. He was the bottom lift operator responsible for keeping the lift running safely. He was known by many as he helped load three generations of skiers onto the lift. He served our country in the United States Army. Russ moved to Polaris in the early 1980’s. He was very kindhearted, friendly and had an easy-going way, helping neighbors and friends with refrigerator/freezer and electrical troubleshooting. He learned the trade from his Dad. He is survived by his daughter Rose Furst, 6 sisters and 2 brothers and special friend Debbie Lee. A remembrance of life will be held Saturday, February 29th from 12 – 4 PM at the Grasshopper Inn in Polaris. Food will be provided, bring a side dish to share if you would like. Please bring your own refreshments.
