On Friday December 6th, 2013 we lost our beloved wife, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. Sherry Dennett Stallman age 55. She lived in Wise River with her beloved husband Van Stallman of 23 years. She passed away at the Barrett Memorial Hospital in Dillon where she was diagnosed with terminal bone and lung cancer on the 19th of November. She was able to come home for a short time over Thanksgiving to spend time with her loving family. Sherry was born on November 12th, 1958 in California to Tiny and Robert Odom. She was one of eight children. She had four children Shawna, Crystal, and twins John and Jason. She moved to Montana, met the love of her life and married Van Stallman July 28th 1990 and then moved to Wise River. She gained four more children from this marriage. Veva, Kristi, Sam, and Dan. Sherry graduated from high school and had many jobs in her life. She and Van owned the Wise River Club for years and worked together. Most recent she was a Watkins distributor and helped run gun shows with Van. She lived in California for most of her life and also resided in Oregon and Rhode Island. At the time of her death she was living in Wise River. She enjoyed gardening and had beautiful flowers in her yard during the summer and was great at growing vegetables in the short Wise River summers. She was one of the best cooks around. She cooked food for the gun shows and was greatly missed when she did not. She would always make sure that people who had nowhere to go for the holidays either came to her house or she would take food to them. Her children and grandchildren were always begging her to cook birthday dinners for them. Recently she got in to cake decorating and then became the cake maker for each of the birthdays that she was also cooking dinner for. She loved doing latch hooks rugs. Gun shows and Watkins have been her passion for the last 10 years. Some of the most significant times in her life where when her and Van got to spend time with their family. Grandchildren seem to always be hanging around. She was always helping them with art, school activities, cooking, growing things, and was always appreciative of the help that they gave her during the gun shows and serving food. With all her kids being grown her and Van always had dogs at home that they treated just like kids. Never would you see her without the dogs tagging along at gun shows and trips. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Step Father Tiny and Jim, Brother in law Kevan May, Cousin Tanya Brown and one grandchild.
