Shirley Harkness

Shirley Jean Harkness, “Jean” 91 of Lima, Montana passed away on November 6th, 2021 at Barrett Hospital and Healthcare. She was born July 3rd, 1930 in Butte, Montana to Malcolm Shearer and Wilma Olmstead. She was raised by her paternal grandparents, James and Bertha Shearer. Jean and Bernard lived up Big sheep Creek on the family ranch. She was very supportive of her children in their activities and was an active member of Montana Farm Bureau with her husband Barnard. In later life (2001)n Jean and Bernard became members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and participated in many church events. Jean was preceded in death by Bernard in 2012, her daughter Janice in 2012, her son-in-law, Janice’s husband William in 2013 and her son, Ernest in 1973. Family is grateful for the wonderful care that she received at the Renaissance Senior Center over the last several years. There is a visitation scheduled for Monday, November 15th at Brundage Funeral Home from 4 – 6 PM with a funeral service on Tuesday, November 16th at 10 AM at the funeral home.
