Terry Lee Williams

September 18, 1955 — December 8, 2024

Dillon

Terry Lee Williams was born with a full set of teeth eating steak and potatoes September 18th, 1955 in Hamilton, MT, where he lived until he left to go to college and play basketball at Montana Tech. From there, he went to Hardin to be the assistant manager at Anthony's where he worked for his uncle, Joey Malensek.

After a day of playing basketball in Hardin, where Arlene Fossen refereed, they adjourned to a bar where she proceeded to whoop him in a game of pool (which he would never admit defeat). It was love. In 1978 Terry and Arlene were married and moved to Dillon. Terry would work at Beaverhead Bar Supply for the next two years. Terry began his career at University of Montana Western shortly after where he continued to work until his retirement in 2005.

Terry enjoyed life outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping. He worked with his close friend, Scott Jones, restoring a cabin in Bell Canyon where they shoveled mounds of cow and rat poop while avoiding hantavirus. He would go onto spend the majority of his weekends there riding his four-wheeler with his dog, Skeeter. Terry enjoyed spending time with his sister, Sherri, his best friend, Dan Moerkorke, and extended family giggling and telling stories with a cold one.

During his retirement he enjoyed seeing his daughters and grandchildren in Helena and Las Vegas. He left us on December 8th, 2024. He is preceded in death by Troy and Dorothy Williams (mother and father). He is survived by his wife, Arlene (Fossen) Williams of 46 years, a very tolerant woman; his daughters Leslie (Robert Moss) and Wendi (Mark Thompson); his grandchildren Miley Moss, Harper Rogers, Owen Moss, Carson Thompson, and Nora Thompson; his sister Sherri (Dave) Williams; and many, many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the St. Rose Catholic church, Monday, December 16th, at 11:00 am. Reception to follow at the Beaverhead Golf Course. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Beaverhead Animal Shelter.
