Thomas D. Oostmeyer was born on April 13th, 1937 in Muskegon, MI and passed away on November 28th, 2022 in Dillon, MT after a long battle with COPD. He joined the Navy at the age of 17 after embellishing his age. Following his stint in the Military, he worked as an over the road truck driver for many years then started A1 Carpet Cleaning which he owned and operated for the next 20 years. Tom had a great sense of humor, always ready with a good joke. He had many hobbies including building gyrocopters, metal detecting, fishing and played many, many games with family. Tom was the 3rd of 10 children. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin & Catherine Oostmeyer, In-laws Ernest & Zella Chamberlain, daughter Bonnie Oostmeyer and siblings Dick, Judy and two infant siblings Donald & Gregory. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria Oostmeyer, daughters Debbie (Clint) Rasmussen, their children Nicki (John) McKenzie, Cassie (Colton) Carlin, Shane (Jackie) Rasmussen, Jake (Alexis) Rasmussen, Kayla Rasmussen, Cody (Sarah) Rasmussen, Tessa (Russell) Haynie, Tori (Wyatt) Ullery. Daughter Cathy (Larry) Dyck and their children Brian (Kayla) Dyck, Trevor Dyck and Riley Dyck. Sister-in-law, Marty, siblings, Mike, Barb, Kathy, Greta, Janel and 14 Great-Grandchildren with another 5 on the way and many nieces & nephews. Special thanks to the fantastic care provided by Dr. Madney, the Barrett Hospital team & Pioneer Care & Rehabilitation Center. Memorial service will be December 17th at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church. Burial will happen at a later date in Salem, OR.
