The universe has lost an amazing man. William F. Saxon passed away 10/22/2023 .
- Bill was born 7/25/1928 to Lewis and Emma Saxon in Oak Park, MN. Bill grew up at the family farm in rural MN. At the passing of his mother, Bill was age 12. He would then work for a neighboring farmer taking care of the entire farm. At 15 he joined his brothers in the Dakotas to help with the harvest. At 18 Bill would join the Navy and serve 22 years. He spent his Navy career on aircraft carriers. Bill took on a second career for 23 years at the University of Colorado, Fort Collins, CO. as head of maintenance. Bill married Jacqueline Ledford, they were married for 51 yrs. Later, Bill would then ask his niece Philly, to build him a log home in Sheridan, Montana, where he lived until his passing. Bill was a true outdoorsman he hunted elk in Colorado at 10,000 ft with horses. He could fix anything and was a real problem solver in mechanics. His sense of humor was off the charts! He would start a story and begin laughing uncontrollably before he finished. Bill was a generous, kind, compassionate, loving, humorous, witty, Mr Fix It, a gentleman and a man of men. Bill was the youngest of 9 and he often referred to himself as the " Last of the Mohicans." Bill is preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Emma Saxon, wife Jackie, 8 siblings, Dave, Bob, Lynn, Chuck, Marietta, Carolyn, Rachel, and Sadie. Bill is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his very loved dog, Billy Bob. Services will be held Saturday Nov. 4, 2023 with open viewing at 10:00 am prior to services and the service to follow at 11:00 am, at Brundage Funeral Home in Dillon, Montana.
